Grampians National Park
Renowned for rugged mountain ranges, rich cultural heritage and breathtaking scenic views, the 168 000 hectare park is ideal for a wide range of outdoor activities. With over 52 walks around the area, plus plenty of guided tours there is ample opportunity to explore the Grampians in its entirety. Some of the more popular walks and areas of interest in the Southern Grampians include Mount Sturgeon, Mount Abrupt, Picanninny and the Chimney Pots.
Ros McArthur Art Studio
A fine art studio/gallery surrounded by the beauty of the Grampians Ranges and situated midway between Dunkeld in the south and Halls Gap to the north. The studio is in the extensive gardens of “Woollahra” sheep farm in the Victoria Valley. As an award –winning artist, Ros is known for her landscape, still life and contemporary paintings. Her work is hanging in Australian and International collections. The garden, comprising native and exotic plantings, supplies an abundance of painting opportunities. Roz Greenwood Old and Rare Books opened in Dunkeld in 2004 and is operated Roz Greenwood who carry a range of books of good quality sourced from local collections and at auction. Our range includes local history with an emphasis on small town booklets and ephemeral publications, general literature, botanical publications including Grampians material, postcards and travel books. The Dunkeld Museum
The Dunkeld & District Historical Museum is a museum of social history of the Dunkeld district. The collection encompasses artefacts from settlement to recent times including an early aboriginal display, exploration by Major Mitchell, history of the wool industry, the baking industry, telecommunications, the effects of the World Wars on Dunkeld district, links with Dunkeld in Scotland and various other items of memorabilia. There is a substantial holding of information on some early families in the district and an extensive photographic collection.
